house m

the house is situated on the hillside at the edge of a landscape conservation area. the terrace on the upper floor projects outward, creating a connection with the surrounding landscape. this allows the residents to enjoy the open space and become part of the natural surroundings. for this ecologically focused house, a traditional, stick-frame timber construction method was chosen. sustainable building materials were used throughout. the selected construction method was well-suited for integrating self-build elements, making the project very cost-effective. to reduce costs, unconventional construction techniques were applied. the ceilings were constructed using cross-laminated timber to avoid the need for an expensive floor buildup. the house continues to meet the current energy saving ordinance (EnEV) standards.
